Today I’d like to share a glimpse behind the scenes at EcoEdify, where the idea of teaching children about energy conservation and helping families save electricity first took shape.
These days, as we prepare platform updates and new features, our team sometimes feels the strain.
But those challenging moments remind us why we started:
to help children understand that turning off a single light is one small step toward saving the planet,
and to build a future that is both energy-efficient and full of life.
From day one, we began with a simple question:
How can we make learning about energy conservation engaging and impactful for kids so the next generation treats the Earth more mindfully?
That question gradually grew into a set of exciting projects.
- EcoEdify Smart Gadget – a device that helps families monitor and manage their home’s electricity use in real time.
- EcoGuide AI – an educational assistant and energy consultant, built on our own dedicated database, that provides personalized tips for both children and parents.
Behind closed doors, countless hours have gone into this mission—from designing digital educational comics for children ages 3–10 to collaborating with innovative Canadian startups eager to showcase their energy-saving products to families.
Building EcoGuide has been especially inspiring.
Our team of designers, developers, and energy experts came together to create a model that not only answers questions but also tailors recommendations to each household’s real needs.
Today, seeing this smart assistant help parents lower their electricity bills while teaching kids why turning off a small light matters brings us closer to our vision.
